Top Ten Books On My Spring 2013 TBR list

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the bloggers of The Broke and the Bookish. This week we are listing the top ten books in our Spring 2013 TBR lists.

Everneath & Everbound by Brodi Ashton  I have both of these books on my Kindle and it would be nice to read some books I actually own before going on to borrow more and more from the library. Plus I'm interested in Ashton's take on underworld mythology.
Unravel Me by Tahreh Mafi  I suppose I should also add "Destroy Me" to this list. I enjoyed Shatter Me well enough, and I'm ready to get sucked back into the hype surrounding this series. Though I haven't decided just yet whether I'm okay with a certain villain becoming much more fleshed-out and a potential love interest. We shall see.
Finnikin of the Rock & Froi of the Exiles & Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta  I read Finnikin of the Rock at the very beginning of last year and really enjoyed it. Since Quintana of Charyn is coming out this April, I would ideally love to read the entire series in a row.
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer  I only just read Cinder back at the end of 2012, so I would like to read Scarlet with the previous book still pretty fresh in my mind. I loved Meyer's creative take on "Cinderella" and can't wait to read how she has altered the "Little Red Riding Hood" fairy tale!
The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab — Despite reading so many reviews for Schwab's latest book, The Archived, I find myself more and more drawn to her debut novel. I love the idea of a story full of dark fairy-tale elements.
Pivot Point by Kasie West — I've read nothing but praise for this debut. I really like the idea of the protagonist having to look forward into two potential futures, and the reviews I've read all speak to how very well done the execution of the novel is.
Poison by Bridget Zinn  I've been excited to read this book for a while now. The premise, the cover, the characters: everything just sounds like a book I'd love. And after learning that the author has tragically passed away before seeing her book get published, I'd like to do my part as both a reader and a blogger to help this book gain more recognition.

Agree with any of my choices? Let me know what books are on your Spring 2013 TBR list!

Amanda loves few things better than sitting down with a cup of tea and a book. She frequently stays up far too late, telling herself she just needs to finish one more page. When she's not wrapped up in the stories of others, Amanda works as a children's librarian in a public library.

  1. You picked some great books to add to your list. I also have been really intrigued by The Near Witch. I've had it on my shelf for a long time now, and at some point I will get to it. I totally understand your take on that certain villain in Unravel Me & Destroy Me. I look forward to your feelings after reading both books. I ended up liking Unravel Me more than Shatter me. new follower.

  2. I am reading Poison now and so far I am enjoying it! I have heard good things about Pivot Point too and will definitely be picking it up. I loved Scarlet even more than I loved Cinder. It's hard to believe anything could be more fun the Cinder, but it's true! I am working on Jellicoe Road now, and hope to get to Finnikin one of these days. Enjoy your spring reading!
