I'm Attending BEA!

It's been an embarrassingly long time since I've last posted here. Only two months shy of a full year, actually. All I can say is that life's been busy. Good, but really, really busy.

I plan on writing about the past year at a later date (both in terms of my bookish life and actual life), but for now this quick post is to announce that I'll be attending Book Expo America (BEA) this Thursday and Friday

Over the past few years, I've read again and again about what an amazing experience BEA is for book lovers. An event dedicated to professionals and those with a vested interest in the book industry? I mean, how appealing does that sound? I never managed to make the trip to New York City, unfortunately, but now that it's in Chicago - a mere few hours away - a good friend and I decided to be first-time attendees together.

I will not be attending BEA as a book blogger, however; in December I graduated from my MLIS program and this January I started a full-time position as a children's librarian. While I plan on attending a good amount of the conferences and sessions devoted to children's literature and librarianship, I do hope to squeeze in some time for books and author signings that are of a more personal interest.

I'm looking forward to what is sure to be an exhausting and crazy but fun-filled few days. Any suggestions or recommendations you might have for a first-time BEA attendee would be much appreciated!
