But, hey, the romance is pretty sweet.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-68048561210075670652014-08-05T11:53:45.903-05:002014-08-05T11:53:45.903-05:00I mean, I still did like the book by and large. I'm glad that my review helped you see the book in a new way. Always a nice thing to hear. :) Thank you, Keertana!Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-51960500009345829772014-07-31T18:02:36.910-05:002014-07-31T18:02:36.910-05:00Hmm yeah, I'm not too keen on really heavily r...Hmm yeah, I'm not too keen on really heavily romance-focused books. It's too bad because the friendship here sounds like a real winner! So it's too bad the focus didn't remain on the strength there for long. It's great that you enjoyed this one even still! People have been raving about this one since it was released, so it's nice to read your thoughtful review to bring it back down to earth a bit.Ayleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07639250102446794830noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-8538401406411303732014-07-28T14:18:21.976-05:002014-07-28T14:18:21.976-05:00I didn't realize how heavily the conclusion of...I didn't realize how heavily the conclusion of this novel relied on romance for these friends until you mentioned it and, looking back, I do agree that it likely undermines the female bond at the heart of this story. Still, I fell for the love story within these pages as much as I fell for everything else and I'm glad that despite a qualm or two, Amanda, you enjoyed this. Thanks for such a thoughtful review, dear--you made me see this book through a different lens too.Keertanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071392026876644282noreply@blogger.com
