I love...Hmmm I'm a bit divided on this one now! I love hard-hitting contemporary fiction, but I need it to ring true and really delve into the heart of the matter. The fact that you mentioned Alice didn't necessarily stand out makes me think that, perhaps, this should have been a bit longer of a novel - or a bit more developed.
