It's definitely an interesting retelling, but it's a retelling of The Odyssey, not The Aeneid, so it's not too helpful for me to use for this project, unfortunately.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-10556828089707003162013-05-05T16:35:47.788-05:002013-05-05T16:35:47.788-05:00I know - it's definitely a strange phenomenon....I know - it's definitely a strange phenomenon. I didn't do Project Fairy Tale, but I enjoyed reading the posts, particularly all of yours on Tam Lin. I was so curious when you said you were doing the Aenied as to what you would find for retellings. Really interested in the ones you did find though, particularly Black Ships.Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00416898799044848769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-66622358088072259242013-05-04T15:34:37.651-05:002013-05-04T15:34:37.651-05:00The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood is what I recent...The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood is what I recently read. It's a re-telling of the Odyssey-- from the POV of Odysseus's wife, Penelope. You can give that a shot; its a novella.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-7276725001811823502013-05-03T01:18:37.884-05:002013-05-03T01:18:37.884-05:00I've noticed that some of the well-known class...I've noticed that some of the well-known classics don't have many retellings as compared to the fairy tales. More often than not, they just do adaptations of it through movies, plays, musicals, etc. I actually had a hard time searching for retellings/sequels of The Secret Garden.

Looking forward to your posts for this project! I haven't read any of the books you've chosen as well as the classic itself.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-67995638752428988572013-05-01T21:44:48.086-05:002013-05-01T21:44:48.086-05:00Ooh awesome choice! I've read some Spanish classics in their original language, and it was a really cool reading experience. And I know, right?! I mean, I'm not quite sure I believe that BSG is retelling The Aeneid, but I plan on looking into it! :)Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-76133031323268472062013-05-01T08:48:36.476-05:002013-05-01T08:48:36.476-05:00I will be checking these out -- I LOVE the Aeneid ...I will be checking these out -- I LOVE the Aeneid -- I almost want to learn Latin so I can read it in the original.
