I need to so I can do an in-depth book and movie comparison. And also because I am sure I'll love it. And maybe you'll read Fire and Hemlock at some point? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-62775580071948895672013-02-15T18:06:05.848-06:002013-02-15T18:06:05.848-06:00I always forget that Fire and Hemlock is a Tam Lin...I always forget that Fire and Hemlock is a Tam Lin story--I still need to read that one as I just discovered Diana Wynne Jones myself this past year (I LOVE her btw--really hope that you love Howl's Moving Castle, one of my favorite books ever). She does have a habit of writing flawed and prickly hard to like characters, but I'm sorry that you found the blurb so misleading on this one. Hehe, makes me glad that she's kind of become one of those authors for me whose work I'll pick up without bothering to check what it's about. :)Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00416898799044848769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-11242561710670777022013-02-14T21:13:55.706-06:002013-02-14T21:13:55.706-06:00I am doubtful how it can be better than the movie....I am doubtful how it can be better than the movie. Definitely try that one out because it will bring back your hope in Diana Wynne Jones. And it's even better than the movie.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-74238358533535062802013-02-12T22:35:07.865-06:002013-02-12T22:35:07.865-06:00I definitely want to read some of her other books ...I definitely want to read some of her other books before making any lasting judgements on her as a writer. It is a strange book. But she has better ones out there! I hope you eventually read something by her as well. :)Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-61662999345823373932013-02-11T22:47:59.378-06:002013-02-11T22:47:59.378-06:00This book sounds a bit confusing to me but Diana W...This book sounds a bit confusing to me but Diana Wynne Jones is an author I have meant to read for a long time. But I know now that I won't start with this one. It just doesn't appeal to me. I'm glad that it wasn't a bad book even if it wasn't a great book.Candacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01701325312535440179noreply@blogger.com
