(I was afraid I'd be the only one here!) Perhaps I will give that a try. For some reason I'm into reading more speculative fiction during the winter months, but if I do take a break I will consider Bittersweet. Thanks, Keertana!Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-33058381616799926212013-12-17T20:18:35.270-06:002013-12-17T20:18:35.270-06:00Thanks, Natalie! I desperately wanted to emphasize with her but couldn't, at least not to the degree I'd hoped that I would. *sigh* Oh well.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-38104915209083920502013-12-17T16:33:39.984-06:002013-12-17T16:33:39.984-06:00I really see where you're coming with this boo...I really see where you're coming with this book because I didn't love it as much as most readers did. But, I still did like it. I'm sorry to see it didn't work out for you, but maybe Ockler's Bittersweet will? It's much lighter and more of a "fun" contemporary - perfect for winter, coincidentally. Still, great review, Amanda!Keertanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071392026876644282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-41217896900666415982013-12-17T10:16:09.685-06:002013-12-17T10:16:09.685-06:00It's a shame you didn't connect with this ...It's a shame you didn't connect with this one. I have the ARC on my Kindle and read the first chapter or so before putting it aside. I keep meaning to go back to it, but I just never have. I could tell that I wasn't going to connect with the main character, and it sounds like you had issues with that as well. After reading your review, I think I will continue to keep this one on the back burner. Great review!Natalie @Natflix&Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12738039522965794238noreply@blogger.com
