I'm sorry to hear that you've had some bad experiences with "chosen one" stories. They're by far my favorite and I hope that I never become disenchanted by them. But you should definitely keep this book in your mind for when you are ready to read this type of book - I am sure it will be something that you enjoy.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-83372311505412625882012-10-08T15:41:12.369-05:002012-10-08T15:41:12.369-05:00I wouldn't put Vessel into the 'girl in a ...I wouldn't put Vessel into the 'girl in a pretty dress' trope because contextually it fits. It's a fantasy, not a contemporary paranormal romance or something--I adore this cover. I'm so torn though, I'm so certain I will fall uterly in love with this book, and yet, I am so done with "chosen one" plots that they've become a deal breaker for me. I certainly have to wait till I'm in a forgiving mood to read this one!Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00416898799044848769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-18284818601452026322012-10-07T19:54:36.423-05:002012-10-07T19:54:36.423-05:00It really is! It's by far one of the best books I've read this year and it needs to continue to be read and reviewed by more people. Thanks, and I look forward to reading your eventual thoughts on this! :)Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03052456915027241479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4160066904665347291.post-36262249767650202832012-10-06T17:03:55.645-05:002012-10-06T17:03:55.645-05:00Wow, this one sounds FANTASTIC! I love the unique concept of it and strong world-building is always a must for me, so I'm glad that's the case here. While the romance does seem to be something I wouldn't love, I think I can overlook that due to all the other awesome this book has. Wonderful review, Amanda! :)Keertanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071392026876644282noreply@blogger.com
